Meet Shannon, a vibrant and determined 42-year-old woman diagnosed with Autism. She has been an integral part of Special Kids Incorporated (SKI) since its inception, and her journey of growth and development has been nothing short of inspiring. Shannon is non-verbal, meaning she has significant difficulty with speaking. She also faces challenges such as repetitive behaviors and resistance to change, which can make adapting to new environments or routines more difficult. Special Kids Incorporated has been a cornerstone of Shannon’s life, providing unwavering support through its events and programs. These opportunities have enriched her life, allowing her to explore her passions and discover new joys. Shannon has a deep love for puzzles and takes great pride in her doll collection, which has brought her immense happiness over the years, thanks to SKI’s encouragement and care. One of Shannon’s greatest strengths is her resilience. She never lets her disability define her limits, tackling challenges with determination and a radiant smile. Her unwavering spirit is an inspiration to everyone who knows her. Shannon’s journey with SKI has been marked by incredible progress, joy, and personal growth. Looking ahead, she remains hopeful and excited about continuing to reach new milestones with the ongoing support of her loving family and the dedicated team at SKI. We are profoundly grateful for the programs and staff who have played a vital role in shaping Shannon into the remarkable woman she is today.
